Because of TABOR, new tax increases must be voted on by residents. This is a great system. Much better than letting legislators decide. There is an op-ed in the WSJ today by Grover Norwood about how Colorado is a shining example of one of the few states that hasn't seen massive tax increases. Even beating out Deep Red States like Texas.

When 50% don't pay taxes they can't get too excited about Tabor. They are more interested in "promised" free stuff.

Democrats in Colorado have perverted TABOR refunds again. Giving "refunds" to people who don't pay income or property taxes and halving the refunds of those who do pay taxes.

They turned TABOR into another wealth transfer.

Yeah it should be challenged in court, earned income credit is not a tax credit or refund, it is a welfare check.

Same for the "flat $800 refunds" which is why the IRS threatened to tax them before they caved to pressure.

So thanks to deceitful Democrats, Proposition HH was ultimately passed in the special session. Colorado voters were denied. #shameful

Yeah those dumb voters just don't know what is good for them, HH was just too complex for them to understand. So F-em

Notice they also created a partisan commission appointed by democrats to come up with a permanent fix.
