Parents were protesting outside Rocky Mountain Academy of Evergreen on Wednesday morning after six teachers apparently were fired on Tuesday.
The six instructors, who, according to one teacher were let go because they were not "team players," were escorted from the charter school off Evergreen Parkway by sheriff's deputies.
Four members of the school's five-member board resigned last week, leaving only Roberta Harrell, the school's executive director, on the board.

Wow, it seems a little harsh have sheriff's deputies escort them out. Not the message you want to send the kids
about the professionalism of the school.
about the professionalism of the school.
Re: Parents protest firing of 6 teachers at Rocky Mtn Academ
When four of five board members leave in protest, and the remaining guy starts dismissing the educator team en masse for "not being team players," one has to wonder about credibility, it having been called into question by ten people (and counting). What is going on over there? I think the parents are most likely correct to be outraged.

How do you fire teachers in the middle of the school semester? Unless it was a crime or serious lack of job performance, like never showing up. Too weird.

- Viewers told Denver7 the six terminated employees were a 7th and 8th-grade science teacher, a 7th and 8th-grade math teacher, an elementary school dean, a 7th and 8th-grade social studies teacher, a middle school dean and a middle school music teacher.
The reason behind the terminations has not been officially released, but parents said it had to do with “conflicts” between the faculty members and Executive Director Dr. Roberta Harrell.
Protest organizer and RMAE parent Lee Dorkin described Tuesday's termination scene, "There was an environment of hostility, there was an environment of sadness, and there was an environment of shock."

Rocky Mountain Academy of Evergreen now has six new school board members in the first step toward dealing with problems plaguing the charter school. Those difficulties came to a head in the last two weeks as seven board members resigned, the school’s executive director fired six faculty members, and parents and students protested the firings in front of the school.
Kyle Stults, the sole remaining member of the board, convened a meeting Monday night at which he appointed six parent representatives to the board, and they elected officers.
