Will you visit Dobby? Born Feb. 28 at only 73 pounds - baby weight for newborn giraffes is
150 lbs. His parents were on birth control so Denver Zoo staff didn't realize his mother Kipele
was pregnant until a week before he was born.

So while the rest of the world is watching and waiting for April to give birth, the Denver Zoo
has an extremely popular little rock star to show off.

Ain't he just the cutest? :beat:

A friend of mine suggests that they misspelled his name - should be Doobie, since he's in Colorado.

It'll be fun once he figures out he can run with those legs. I have mixed feelings at any zoo, but
they've saved quite a few animals from complete extinction.

I'm pretty much over the April hype, but Dobby is just darling. Baby creatures are the best.

The wife and I visited the animal rescue place up north near Hudson Colorado and were really impressed with the work they do saving wild animals from horrible existences. We are also thinking about visiting the zoo because they are opening a new exhibit this month.

For $50 you can have a 30 minute personal encounter with a rhino with photo op!

There are only 45 Amur Leopards in the wild, but zoos have reintroduction planning in the works.
