Greg Henika Field

In July 2016 the Buffalo Park Field was renamed Greg Henika Field in tribute to Greg Henika, the beloved Kiwanis volunteer and former Evergreen High School special education teacher, who passed away in 2015. The parkland is located adjacent to the Evergreen High School Baseball Field and is owned by Jefferson County Public Schools. Parkland is leased and managed by the Evergreen Park & Recreation District.

Components of the Evergreen Park and Recreation District's managed park property include:
4 Ball diamonds

The District does not have any overnight park facilities. Fires are not allowed. Jefferson County’s leash law is applied to District Properties. Please pick up after your pet while using EPRD Parks. Jefferson County Animal Control has jurisdiction over dog issues in unincorporated Jefferson County. The Animal Control Office can be reached Monday - Friday, 7:30 AM - 5:30 PM at 303-271-5070. After hours and animal emergencies may use 303-277-0211.

Buchanan Recreation Center

Buchanan Park Recreation Center, is home to one of the states largest and most unique climbing pinnacle, state of the art weight room with brand new weight and cardio equipment. After a great workout relax and recover in the hot tub next or dry sauna. Your little ones will enjoy the water slide and water features in the indoor pool. BPRC also offers an outdoor patio with great views of Bergen Peak, perfect for parties.

Weight Rooms/Circuit Training
The weight room and cardio area is 3,200 square feet, featuring state of the art weight/cardio equipment, and accommodates all levels of exercise enthusiasts. There are 24 pieces of cardio equipment including seven treadmills, three upright bikes, three recumbent bikes, six ellipticals, two ARC trainers, one Concept II rower, one SCIFIT upper body exerciser, and one SCIFIT total recumbent elliptical. We also have 13 pieces of free weight equipment and 13 pieces of Cybex circuit training equipment that encircle the climbing pinnacle at the lower level of the rotunda for those looking for a quick effective workout.

Cardio/Weight Room Policy for Youth
Evergreen Park & Recreation District cardio/weight area is available for ages 9 and up. For safety reasons, youth ages 9-12 must have adult supervision at all times. Youth ages 13-15 are required to take our FREE orientation class to use this area.

Cardio/Weight Equipment Orientation
Our certified trainers will provide an introduction to the cardio and weight equipment. Orientation will include an overview on how to use the equipment with proper form and technique. These sessions are FREE of charge to those who have paid for admission to the facility or have a facility pass or punch card. Sign up at the front desk, limit 10 per class. This orientation is required for teens (13-15) up until their 16th birthday to use the cardio and weight equipment if parent is not present. Orientations will be cancelled if no one signs up within two hours of start time.



Wulf Recreation Center

Wulf Recreation Center includes: a 25-yard six-lane pool, a gymnastics gym, a basketball/volleyball gym, a weight/fitness facility, 1 handball/racquetball court, a dance studio, a Playschool room, and 3 meeting/class rooms.

Wulf Recreation Center property includes: 4 tennis courts, 2 sand volleyball courts, 2 playgrounds, a skate park, and a mile long asphalt fitness trail.

Weight Room
The unique spacious 1,600 square foot floor plan offers equipment for all levels of exercise enthusiasts. There are 20 pieces of cardio equipment including five crosstrainers, three upright bikes, one recumbent bike, five treadmills, one AMT, and one step mill. There are also free weights for those seeking an intensive work out.

Cardio/Weight Room Policy for Youth
Evergreen Park & Recreation District cardio/weight area is available for ages 9 and up. For safety reasons, youth ages 9-12 must have adult supervision at all times. Youth ages 13-15 are required to take our FREE orientation class to use this area.

The Lake House

The Evergreen Lake House is the crown jewel of our community. Host to events year round it provides the perfect location for your next wedding, event, or meeting. Overlooking Evergreen Lake with majestic views from the deck or anywhere inside the building with the rustic log cabin charm of a mountain getaway. During the winter the Lake House is transformed into the Skating Center from Early December into Spring pending ice conditions. During the spring to late fall it is a venue that is heavily used by the community and groups that want to enjoy this fabulous location..

Evergreen Lake Park
Entering the park and lake area is at your own risk. Ice and lake conditions are subject to nature and changing constantly. Stay alert and be aware of park rules and regulations. If you have any questions please call the Lake House at 720.880.1300.

The Evergreen Lake Trail
The Evergreen Lake Trail, a natural surface trail for walking and jogging encircles the entire lake, is 1.3 miles long. Please note: sections of the lake trail are not conducive to wheel chair and stroller use and are not ADA compliant. Leash laws are enforced for trail and park. Please be courteous and PICK UP AFTER YOUR PETS for other trail/park users.

Climbing Pinnacle, Buchanan Recreation Center
Climbing Pinnacle - The 41-foot rock-like freestanding pinnacle is located
in the rotunda of the building. Sculptured and custom holds are embedded
throughout the wall, and an overhang will challenge even the advanced climber.

Pool area offers an outdoor patio with picnic tables, hot tub,
two 25-yard lap lanes, dry sauna, two story slide, water features, vortex channel,
zero depth entry, UV water treatment, and 86 degree water temperature.

Buchanan Ponds

Buchanan Ponds Fishing Permits

Evergreen Park and Recreation District has enhanced the ponds at Buchanan Park Recreation Center to be an exceptional fishery.

Nets and barbless flies are required.
Catch and release only.
Float tubes permitted. No boats.
A limit of 10 permits are sold daily.
No State fishing license is required.
Wrist bands can be purchased at the Buchanan Park Recreation Center’s front desk.
Wrist bands must be worn while fishing.
If you have any questions or need to report any problems, call the Buchanan Park Recreation Center 720-880-1100. A $3 ID card is required for the punch card.

side hoops, two volleyball courts, and bleachers for fans to enjoy the action on the court. EPRD
uses this facility for youth basketball leagues, basketball clinics, youth volleyball, adult basketball,
adult volleyball, senior volleyball, pickleball and after-school programming.
