Red Feather Lakes Fire destroys homes, evacuations

LARIMER COUNTY, Colo. — A fire broke out just before 3 a.m. destroying homes and causing over 300 evacuations near Red Feather Lake in Larimer County.

Evacuation notices went out to 367 residents in the area after reports of “multiple structure fires,” according to Larimer County Sheriff’s Office spokesperson John Schulz. Those notices were lifted shortly after 4 a.m. when the containment of the fire was aided by snow in the area.
