About Evergreen Animal Protective League

Post by EAPL »

General Information:

Evergreen Animal Protective League was established in April of 1981 to aid lost, abandoned and suffering animals through rescue, shelter and education. The League has provided a better life for thousands of animals over the years.

Some Facts About the League:

We are a 100% volunteer organization, there are zero paid employees. Most of our volunteers work during the day and do their volunteer work in the evenings and on weekends.

We are not supported by taxes. All of our funding comes from donations from the public, and our fund raising activities. We do not make money off of our adoption fees, our adoption fees barely cover the cost of the initial vet visit, vaccines, spay/neuter, food and advertising. Because we must raise our own funds to operate, we heavily depend upon the mountain community for contributions and volunteer assistance.

We are a non-profit organization recognized for tax-exempt status by the Internal Revenue Service.

We rescue and shelter abandoned pets based on space availability in our foster homes.

We adopt pets not claimed by anyone to new homes.

We reunited lost pets with their owners through our lost and found records.

We assist financially with spaying/neutering of pets and we educate owners about spaying and neutering whenever possible.

We educate adults on proper care of pets, whenever possible.

We provide education programs in the elementary schools and to scout troops as requested.

We provide FREE pet registration tags to help owners and pets reunite by keeping an updated database of tag information.

We help animals anyway we can!!

League's Main Number: (303) 674-6442 Web Site: http://eapl.com/index.html
This number is answered 7-days a week 8am to 7pm staffed by volunteers and there is an overnight message option. EAPL does not have a physical location, all of their work is done in volunteer homes.

In general, it is best to complete an application first so that one of their adoption volunteers have some basic information about you, your lifestyle, and your intended pet environment. This will enable them to talk to you about the pet that you are interested in and whether or not there is a good fit.

Thank you for considering an adoption of a rescue pet and going through the Evergreen Animal Protective League.

We love EAPL do you have a list of shelter needs you could post?

I know money is always great but I was thinking if people have extra's of items that you need they could donate them.

Also, where can they drop off the needed items?

All pet supplies (dog and cat) are always welcome. You can drop off supplies at Chow Down in Bergen Park or the EAPL Thrift Store on Meadow Drive in Evergreen.

Thank you!
